On February 8, 2012 at 9:00 am at the state-of-the art Bikestation at 223 E. 1st Street in downtown Long Beach CA 90802 (1st Street Transit Mall at Promenade Park) the Women On Bikes SoCal (WoBSoCal) initiative “celebrating the joy, benefits and beauty of bicycling for women” will be joined by the California Bicycle Coalition, Bikeable Communities, Vice Mayor Suja Lowenthal, Andréa White-Kjoss of Bikestation, Bike Long Beach, the Los Angeles County Bicycle Coalition for the launch of the “Let’s Double the Number of Women & Girls Riding Bikes” campaign.

Women On Bikes SoCal initiative celebrating the beauty and benefits of bicycling for women. As part of our launch from Long Beach we’d like to ask women and girls from around the city to share their bicycle love stories with us at www.womenonbikessocal.org.

Bloomberg Businessweek's Top 25 list of America's Most Promising Social Entrepreneurs for 2011 was just announced and for the third year in a row Certified B Corps made up approximately 1/3 of the list! In 2010, Mobis/Bikestation was one of seven Certified B Corps that were selected to the list.

The Long Beach Bike Salon is a new, small gallery tucked behind Shelter Surf Shop on 4th Street’s Retro Row in Long Beach, California. Despite only 300 square feet to work with, the Long Beach Bike Salon dynamically presents the bicycle’s mixture of art, mechanics and social impacts, along with a smidge of regret over what we’ve been missing.

Bikeable Communities is a Non-Profit 201-3C established to promote bicycling safety and foster the ideal of a Bikeable Network of Communities. Today they talk about advocacy and marketing of this ideal and even share a fabulous moment with Andrea White-Kjoss!

Two industrial design students at Carnegie Mellon University have used their skills and intellect to design and build an amazingly beautiful solution for visibility on night rides.
